Our new home may not be completely renovated yet, but Lennox‘s playhouse/swing-set is installed and it’s pretty much his DREAM COME TRUE so major win happening over here! 🙌🏻 And thank you to the best daddy for putting it together!😉 Gotta love a hubby that insists on installing his son’s play-set! I tried to hire someone but my husband said he wanted to do it! Love you, babe!

While we were researching play-sets and what would fit best in our yard, we kept going back to Woodplay. We love how customizable they are and it’s so fun to be able to switch out the different types of swings. My personal favorite is the hammock, and Lennox’s is the saucer swing. I love watching him and his friends play for hours on end! Their little imaginations run wild and I’ve seen this amazing structure be a magical castle🏰, a hospital 🏥, a cabin in the woods🏚 and on and on… ☺ When we were customizing the actual structure and choosing accessories, Lennox had three must haves on his list— a curly slide, a trapeze bar and a megaphone! We just ordered the spotlight and will be surprising him with it for Christmas!

I always dreamed of a backyard where we could have space for Lennox to run around and play and have all of his friends over. We lived in a townhouse for so many years and simply did not have that kind of space. Feeling so incredibly grateful to be able to look out the window and see our son having such a wonderful time, being active and using his imagination! If you happen to be looking for a play structure this one is number one on our list! We chose the Woodplay 5′ PLAYHOUSE COMBO 2 which I’ve linked HERE

And definitely check out Swingsets.com for the different play-sets they offer along with many other fun outdoor activities for you and your family!

This post is in partnership with Bosch home appliances, but all thoughts are my own.

Before we started our kitchen renovation, everywhere I looked things were falling apart. The microwave handle had just broken off, the door on the dishwasher fell open unless it was locked and the fridge literally died the DAY our new Bosch appliances arrived. How’s THAT for timing?! I was honestly nervous that our old dishwasher would bust open during a cleaning cycle and flood the kitchen—one flood is enough, y’all! So, when we chose our new Bosch kitchen suite, I knew the appliances would deliver the quality we could trust. Research! Research! Research! Plus, it’s so pretty to look at! 😍

Now when I look around at our new kitchen and see gorgeous appliances that are not only sleek and beautiful, but also family friendly, I can’t help but smile from ear to ear! I guess I didn’t realize that was possible? Before we had Lennox, I thought I’d have to sacrifice beauty for baby-friendly. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had visions of a kitchen that was always messy (it still is 😳🤦🏼‍♀️), crayon all over the walls, fingerprints everywhere and a padlock on the “broken” dishwasher so the baby would be safe. It’s fair to say I was spinning out a bit!

One very special person who helps bring me back to reality is my dear friend and interior designer, Cynthia Soda. Having her opinion and helping us choose the very best appliances for our home was so important to me. She creates beautiful living spaces for her clients, day in and day out, so her guidance was greatly appreciated! Here is what Cynthia had to say about Bosch:

“What I like about this kitchen suite for you is the fact that the appliances are not only sleek and integrateperfectly into your overall kitchen design, they also feature advanced cooking, cleaning and refrigeration technologies. Plus, there are so many user-friendly features that help make life in the kitchen easier, like adjustable glass shelves in the fridge, a QuietCloseoven door and an InfoLight on the dishwasher that shines on the floor so you know it’s running and don’t accidently open it in the middle of a cycle—the risk is high with a unit so quiet!”

(Side note: Cynthia is sooooo right! I’ve almost opened my 100 Series dishwasher mid-cycle a few times!!)

Well friends, I am happy to report that my perception about having to sacrifice beauty and sleek appliances for a kitchen that is “baby/kid friendly” was incorrect! You canhave it all… Bosch has thought of everything. Our oven has a safety lock which is the MOST IMPORTANT feature for me. The 100 Series dishwasher has hidden controls so wandering little fingers don’t accidentally start it. And, the appliances are basically magic because they don’t show ANY fingerprints and everything works perfectly, every time. Hallelujah! Who knew having it all IS possible! 💋Now I’m off to put the groceries in the fridge, prepare dinner, unload the dishwasher and hopefully eat before my food gets cold! 🤪 I know, wishful thinking on the cold food part! 🤣

Now that our home renovation is almost compete, (still a couple weeks away😬🥂) I’ve been adding some of the finishing touches! I’m just a “tiny” bit impatient, 🤪 so I started scouring the internet looking for pieces to make our house a home like four months ago. I wanted to fill our home with cozy, warm, colorful pieces that feel good (literally) and look pretty!😍 I discovered a website called Grandin Road and found SO MANY pieces that fit the exact look and feel I was going for! They. Have. Everything! You name it. Which makes me feel like a kid in a candy store! 💘 All the pieces in the descriptions and photos below are from Grandin Road. 🙌🏻💗🙌🏻

I’m so into velvet and blue right now so when I found this fabulous blue Bardot ottoman I instantly put it in my cart! I then went to the artwork page of the website and was thrilled to find such an extensive collection. I picked out art that would add some bold color to our white walls – we had color on the walls for years and just painted everything white. In the photos you’ll see I’m keeping up with my succulent and cacti theme! 😝 I mean, when you find succulent art, you buy it. Done! And a colorful cactus on canvas? Don’t even get me started! Always an Arizona girl!🌵 When I designed my succulent wall, I wanted a piece of art that would complement my FAVORITE wall, duh, while bringing a different pop of color to our entryway. Voila! Leilani, a beautiful blue flower painting on canvas. I love gold frame. Once I reveal the kitchen, you’ll see how I tie gold into the rest of the house! 👏🏻😉👏🏻 Then I made my way to the rugs. Man, this may have been one of the most difficult choices to make. My interior designer, Cynthia Soda helped guide me toward bold colors and I’m so happy she did. We chose this gorgeous Artesia area rug for the living room mainly because of the color palette which has all my faves. 😍

Shopping for the house has been so much fun and a lot easier than I thought it would be. I’m so grateful for the guidance of Cynthia🙏🏻 and fabulous stores like Grandin Road. We still have so much more to do, but I am over the moon with the additions we’ve made so far.

So excited to share the rest of our home renovation with you all! Stay tuned! Xoxo

Amy

P.S. There’s a million photos below because I could not choose between them. Proof to myself that I’ve made some pretty good choices! LOL

If you frequent my Instagram page and website, you might know that I wrote a post about “The Wrinkle Police.” This woman’s comment really hurt my feelings and unfortunately it took me a while to shake it off. I wrote that post when I was pretty emotional and I was very brazen and didn’t hold back. I still feel exactly the same way- all of my wrinkles and lines show every experience I’ve had throughout my 30 something years on this earth. 🤪 I am proud of each and every smile line, frown line and even those damn crows feet!

All that being said, I’m not above looking for the best skin care products and ways to nourish my skin and keep it as healthy as possible. Duh! I keep hearing all about Vitamin C and the benefits it provides for your skin, thus my Vitamin C journey has begun! I’ve been using products from iS Clinical for awhile now, and to say I’m obsessed is an understatement! Since adding vitamin C to my skin care regimen, my face feels more vibrant, hydrated and plump! Ha. Yep, plump! 😬 The two products I added to my iS Clinical regimen are Pro Heal Serum Advance Plus and C Eye Advance Plus. I swear I’m seeing a difference after just one week. So, yay!

Now, this is not an ad. It’s more like a public service announcement!🙌🏻 😆 LOL! I’m just a big fan of iS Clinical and wanted to spread the word. Share the L❤VE! I always want the best for my skin so I’d love for you to share any of your tips or tricks in the comments below! I’m sharing the iS Clinical products I use AND love below annnnnd there’s a SALE!! Just sayin’! Your skin will thank me.💋

Here’s to sunny and bright days in the NEAR future! It’s currently raining in Los Angeles. 😤🙃

Happy Thursday!

Nothing like looking at old photos to pull on your heartstrings. 😭 We got Lennox this ball pit when he was about nine months old and little did we know how much fun we would ALL have with this silly thing! It began to drive me crazy because all I was doing was picking up balls from all over the house! Add another kid into the equation and it was constant mayhem. When Lennox would have friends over they would take turns diving into the pit, turning it over dumping all the balls and then fighting over who got to get in it. They never thought they could actually play together in the ball pit – TOGETHER?! 🤣 Check out this article!

This post is all over the place because my mind is all over the place right now. Lennox will be three years old on March 1st and I’m struggling. How have three years passed so quickly? How did my little bitty squishy, chunky baby boy turn into this lean, active and totally fun little boy?! Lennox is my biggest dream come true and I am grateful for the opportunity to be his mommy.🙏🏻 As I’m sitting here writing this while he watches TV, I’m feeling guilty. That’s another thing that’s been on my mind. This constant mom guilt is seriously driving me crazy! It’s like if I’m not staring at him and watching his every move I feel guilty. I was going to the bathroom this morning and he was calling for me and it’s like, can I just have a minute to go to the bathroom?! Without feeling guilty!! I don’t know, does this ever go away? ? Do we ever feel like we’re doing a good enough job?

Contemplating so many things currently and trying to make sense of all the thoughts that are plaguing my mind. I know I’m not alone, I know that we all go through this, so please feel free to share your stories so we can help each other through these milestones. These beautiful, sometimes stressful, emotional milestones.

Have a beautiful, beautiful day!💗💗💗

Amy

Ball pit fun from 9 months to almost 3 years old!! 😭😭😭🥰🥰🥰

Hooray! I think I’m done?! I’m done! Well I was done this week but I procrastinated. Ughh. 🙈🤷🏼‍♀️ Who else waited until the last minute to complete their holiday shopping? Oh my goodness, every year I try to start early and every year I’m scrambling to complete my shopping. This year I was a little bit smarter and actually made a list and it helped! Some of the gifts I bought for family and friends are below! Good finds and good buys.👍🏻

Side note- I feel like the past month I’ve been telling Lennox that if he’s naughty Santa may not visit and that the elves are ALWAYS watching. 😳 Who else uses or “over-uses” this?! He’s really into talking about being naughty or nice lately and I can tell he’s understanding the difference. It may have started by us manipulating a little, 😬 but the outcome is starting to become positive. So, as parents do you think it’s ok to bend the truth? To either teach the lesson or get the point across by gibbing a little… My hubby and I have been discussing this and we’re undecided. Anyway- may all your tiny humans choose to be nice instead of naughty and may we always strive to be examples of kindness. God knows the world needs more of that 🙏🏻❤

When looking for toys for Lennox I always want to start with something educational and then cross my fingers that he “kinda” follows my lead!😂 Luckily, Len is a bookworm and loves to read so I don’t have to encourage him to pick up a book, he just does it! When it comes to toys Lennox likes, yes I want it to be educational to some degree, but I also want him to simply have fun, use his imagination and work on developmental skills. The toys that Len and I found for his FAVES list (most he already has and a few on are Santa’s list🤫) are musical, help with fine motor skills and encourage creativity thru imagination. Check out Lennox’s favorites below and simply click on the images to find the exact toys.

Happy holiday shopping! Hope this makes finding some great toys for your littles a bit easier! 🎁❤🎁

The irony that studying botany at Arizona State University was my breaking point and inspired me to leave Arizona still makes me laugh to this day. I hated learning about photosynthesis and germination etc. etc.… I thought it was so boring! Snore… I remember meeting my dad for our bi-weekly dinner, crying to him about being miserable in Arizona and wanting to move to Los Angeles, (to be an actress). It took him a few years to budge, but on that particular night he looked at me and said, “OK, you’re moving to LA.” The scariest and most exhilarating words I had ever heard… and so the countdown began.

I finished up my freshman year at ASU and moved to LA later that summer. I was 19 years old, scared to death but living out my dream. I cried every day. I mourned everything about Arizona. I missed my friends, I missed my parents and most of all I missed the comfort of being close to everyone and everything I had known for ALL my 19 years of being on earth.😁 As every day passed my transition became a little bit easier, but it wouldn’t be for a couple years until I felt safe and truly happy.

One time my dad was visiting and we took a trip to China town in downtown Los Angeles. We ate some amazing food and browsed in shops when I stumbled across this very small bamboo plant. I instantly fell in love. I thought to myself, “bamboo just sits in water, how hard could it be to keep this little guy alive?” Well, my dad bought me the plant and I named him Herbie. Herbie was my first green baby🎍 and I had him for many years. I guess you could say Herbie started my love for plants and all of my green babies. My mom says I get my green thumb from my grandma- wow, that just made my nose burn and my eyes well up with tears. It’s interesting how missing someone creeps up on you like that, isn’t it? Sigh… Anyway, I LOVE my green babies, and my succulent wall has brought me so much joy. The photos below are just the beginning of the project, as a lot of the plants are still in their plastic pots. Soon I will show you what I’ve done with this amazing wall of succulent plants! As my interior designer and friend, Cynthia Soda said, “any time you are sad and want to feel happy, just go stare at this wall!”

It’s amazing to me that one of the forces that drove me away from Arizona and to Los Angeles, brings me immense happiness today. Do you have plants in your life? I highly recommend it!🤣

To be continued…🌵🎍🌵🎍

A few weeks ago I introduced you all to my interior designer and now friend, Cynthia Soda and now I want to give you a sneak peek of what we have been up to. After a few FaceTime chats and numerous emails, Cynthia came up with amazing plans for our new kitchen remodel.🙌🏻 She pulled together the most beautiful textiles, paint colors and hardware and I’m chomping at the bit to see all of the magic come to life! Now I consider myself a very creative person, but when it comes to stepping outside the box and taking risks with interior design, I’m so intimidated!🙈 Just one of the reasons we are a perfect match. Cynthia pushes me out of my comfort zone “just enough” to make me see how big and beautiful the world is out there! Kidding, LOL! But honestly, I don’t think I could have ever dreamt of putting these bold colors together, let alone trusting myself that it works beautifully. I’m just going to blame it on growing up in Arizona and matching everything with everything 😆! I still find it challenging to make bold wardrobe choices unless someone gives me the go ahead! My friends know what I’m talking about.🙄 Sorry for the tangent, but it just helps to color the fact that I need to be pushed every now and then! So excited for you all to see how everything comes together in our home. Let me back up, I’m so freaking excited to see how it all comes together and then I will show all of you! Love you madly, Cynthia!

I hope you all have a great start to your week!

XOXO
