Dressing Lennox has been so much fun right from the start! When he was a baby, I always put him in funky clothes with lots of bright colors and I’m happy he still lets me! Needless to say, his funky style has remained and I’m just trying to keep up with him as he grows like a weed! My sweet son loves wearing hats, sunglasses, bow ties and tons of bracelets! Side note- I started putting hats on him when he was a tiny baby for sun protection, and now he grabs a hat every day for school. That’s my boy! Start em young, mom and dad! So as Lennox continues to grow at the speed of lighting, this mommy needs all the help she can get. Have you heard of Stitch Fix Kids yet?! Umm, GAME CHANGER. PLEASE keep reading!!

Let me explain what Stitch Fix is… They describe themselves as the personal style service for men, women and kids that evolves with your tastes, needs and lifestyle. They combine technology with the personal touch of seasoned stylists to help you save time, look fabulous and for me, step out of my comfort zone. Stitch Fix works with thousands of stylists from all over the US who are trendsetters and passionate about fashion.

I originally did a “Stitch Fix “for myself a couple months ago because I was looking to branch out of my little box. I gravitate towards the same styles of clothing and I wanted a stylist to help me mix things up a bit. Now being a busy mom (as all of you mommies know), I barely have time to get dressed in the morning let alone actually go shopping in a store. Aww fond memories…. That’s where having a stylist from Stitch Fix is brilliant! My stylist sent items that I never would have bought on my own and my closet is a lot more fun these days! Branching out has wonderful. Then, I learned that Stitch Fix was expanding into Stitch Fix Kids which has been a total game changer.

As I mentioned before, you will rarely see me going into a clothing store because I basically buy everything online. Come on, shopping with the three-year-old?! I know you feel my pain! With Stitch Fix Kids it’s so easy AND fun. After I took their style quiz, the stylist did all the work for me! I didn’t have to scour the internet for clothing that I hoped would fit Lennox, while crossing my fingers that I wouldn’t have to go to UPS with a ton of returns. I mean, that’s no fun for anyone! The stylist nailed Lennox’s style and even added some items that I wouldn’t have chosen on my own. It’s been fun for both of us and has saved so much time so we can do fun activities vs. tantrums at the mall.

As we head into summer, I’m super excited to see what Lennox’s next “fix “will be and I’m even more excited that I don’t have to do anything! If the items fit, which they did perfectly in his last box, I keep everything. If I need different sizes I check that box at check out and if there is an item I don’t care for I can exchange it for something new. They make it so easy and very affordable. We received about 10 items including the outfits you see in the zillion pics below- a jacket, sweatshirt, joggers, shorts, t-shirts, jeans and even these cute shoes all for under $170. Such a crazy good deal!

So, I’ve been doing a little online shopping- because who has time to actually go into a store anymore, and I was trying to find out what jackets will be popular this season. Utility jackets are everywhere, and there’s so many super cute ones! I chose this army green utility jacket because it’s adorbs, and well, it’s green! Duh! I’ve also linked a couple other fun utility jackets that just happen to be on sale.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I am going to put on my sweatpants and my UGGs and I may just cuddle under a blanket! Ya right. It’s still like 65 degrees. But hey, I got to wear my UGGs today!

Have you ever had moments in your life where you’ve met someone and it feels like you’ve known them before? There’s a familiarity and a sense of comfort that doesn’t quite make sense because you’ve just met, but on the other hand it makes perfect sense. I can look back on times in my life where situations like this have happened and I’m still dumbfounded by it.

Well, this explains exactly how I felt when I met- in person, my incredibly talented interior designer and now friend, Cynthia Soda, of Soda Pop Design Inc. Months ago I randomly came across Cynthia’s Instagram page, @csodapop (follow her!) and instantly FELL IN LOVE! We’ve been doing all kinds of renovations to our home, so I’ve been browsing instagram for inspiration! Since posting a comment on Cynthia’s page a few months ago, (this kitchen was ) not only do I have the most beautiful plans for our kitchen remodel, but I have a good friend now, too. Coincidence? Right place, right time? Serendipity? Who knows? All I know is I want to stay open to the people the Universe (ya, I said Universe) drops into my life, because I could’ve missed out on this wonderful partnership and friendship if I was closed off.

… So go and check out my TALENTED FRIEND and her design skillzzzzz HERE. She blows me away!! Sharing some fun photos Cynthia and I took right before she left to go back home to Canada. It was emotional!! She didn’t want to leave and I didn’t want her to leave!! But she’ll be back soon.

I always loved listening to my sweet grandma sharing stories of her “younger years” in Brooklyn. Even as a little girl, I was aware of her saying that it always felt “just like yesterday” when she was newly married, pregnant with my dad and moving to Arizona shortly after giving birth. At 94 years old my sweet Gram had the knowledge that I strive for on a daily basis. Of course she did! She was 94! Our elders know so much more than we do at times- at least more than I do! Why is being present such a challenge for me at times? Sigh. I’m learning… Having a child is definitely helping me enjoy all the moments- the fun, the messy and the amazing… I’m just so grateful that I was able to watch my grandma reminisce about meeting my grandpa, her highschool girlfriends and what her life was like before children. Her wisest words? She just kept telling me to ENJOY MY LIFE, because it flies by. UGHHHH. It’s so simple, so why do I make it so hard at times?

We can’t fight days flying by, so we my as well try to enjoy every damn second!

I’m really excited about this striped handkerchief hem dress, can you tell?! It makes me want to twirl around. You know when you put something on and it just feels good? I was thrilled to attend the Bloom Summit event last weekend. It was extremely informational and I was introduced to so many brands I wasn’t aware of. When it comes to health prevention and forward thinking I’m in- hook, line and sinker! I wish there was more prevention within our health system, but that’s a whole blog in itself. I will say, doing what we can to stay healthy and fit should be at the top of our list. If anything seems out of the norm with your health – mind or body, please look into it as soon as possible! I truly believe that sort of thinking helps save lives. On that note… Lol!!

Staying active and physically fit has always been a priority for me but lately with time constraints (a two-year-old, family, work and sleep) you could say I’ve been slacking a bit! This event was just what I needed to reinvigorate my love for yoga and physical fitness, not to mention learning about beauty brands to help keep me healthy from the inside out. I’m so excited to start taking collagen! As I learn more about it I will definitely do a blog and share with you all. Something else I tried at the event was a B12 shot. I’m a chicken when it comes to needles, no idea how I had a baby so when they were doing B 12 shots and IVs, I started to sweat. When I saw the needle for the IV I was like, “no way!” But I put my big girl panties on and got the B12 shot in my bum. It barely hurt! I’m thinking now of incorporating B12 shots into my life. Seems like a pretty healthy pick-me-up!

It’s always a good excuse to get dressed up and see your girlfriends. I’d say that the Bloom Summit event was my perfect kind of Saturday.

There’s so many amazing organizations I love supporting but the Step Up Women’s Network has to be one of my favorites. This group of amazing women and girls come together to support each other and help each other grow. Yes, these young girls teach us maybe more than we are able to teach them! Witnessing these girls speak about their accomplishments – where they started from to where they are now, is so incredibly inspiring. No wonder the name for this event is The Inspiration Awards.

When I got home from this beautiful event I started thinking. We all have a story to tell and each one is unique and different. No one story is more important than the other and I love that this platform allows young girls to learn more about themselves and share their story. Step Up Women’s Network is instilling confidence and a supportive sisterhood into the girls lives. They are able to feel safe sharing their while finding guidance towards becoming the young women they want to be. I always knew I wanted to be a storyteller and I’m grateful for learning that at such a young age, but I had no clue how to get from point A to B… If a mentorship like the Step Up Women’s Network would have been available to me I definitely would have felt more supported during my adolescence.

I hope to be able to participate more with these young girls, learn from them and share some life lessons that have helped me along the way. If you would like to find out more about the Step Up Women’s Network please click here.

Beanie baby! When I was little I was obsessed with beanie babies. Do you remember those little beanie stuffed animals?… I had quite the collection and had a name for each and every animal. Now that I’m older I’ve moved on to different collections. LOL! Hats!!! I love hats. I’ve always loved hats. And one of my favorite hats is definitely a beanie. Put a faux fur pom pom on top and I’m in heaven. I probably have over 25 beanies – slightly compulsive buying habit Beanies and cable knit sweaters. That’s how I plan to stay cozy this winter. Oh, and snuggling with the kiddo!
